Edu/Code was founded by Dr Steve Mason, an education data specialist who works directly with schools to solve complex, real-world data problems. The EduNomicon was built from this work, shaped by practical challenges in teaching, learning, well-being, and school operations while working in a high-performing Australian school environment.

Steve’s work quickly gained traction with leading Melbourne schools, delivering practical improvements in how student and school data was understood and used. Drawing on this experience, he created the EduNomicon and founded Edu/Code to make those capabilities accessible to more schools.

Today, Edu/Code remains focused on helping schools make better use of their data, whether through advanced modelling, clearer reporting pipelines, or advisory support. The goal is simple: make data easier for educators to understand, use, and act on with confidence.

Do we keep control of our data and insights?

Yes. Schools retain full control and transparency over their data at all times. All data used by Edu/Code and the EduNomicon is securely stored and encrypted to protect sensitive information. Edu/Code does not collect, reuse, or monetise school data. You decide what data is used, what is shared, and when data is removed. Models are built specifically for your school using your data, and remain under your control at all times.
